Strategic Operating Priorities
Through our Community Outreach Work Group, we are implementing a stigma-free plan with messaging that helps activate natural supports within the community, increasing community perception/opinion that says “recovery is normal and desirable” and “recovery is possible”.
We partner with and encourage local groups and organizations to hold “sober events” throughout the year.
Additionally, we aim to collaborate with community partners on developing a web-based Community Calendar highlighting sober and other prevention-focused events.
The Prevention Work Group aims to partner with The Resilience Coalition to work on prevention efforts. The Prevention Work Group looks at prevention of opioid and substance misuse, primarily as decreasing the supply of opioids in the community while addressing how to increase education about alternative pathways for pain management.
While using the 8 Dimensions of Wellness as a lens, the prevention work group will work on creating existing gaps in prevention services within primary, secondary and tertiary efforts and develop solutions to help fill those gaps.
Additionally, the task force aims to create a Policy Work Group with responsibility to identify, develop, and pursue necessary public policy changes that support Opioid Task Force mission
The Treatment Work Group works to continue to update the real time local resource directory, while continuously assessing existing gaps or obstacles in treatment services, and facilitates filling those gaps.
The work group focuses on the “Road to Recovery” pathway to include increasing family, peer support, clinical services, greater access to sober activities, improving community awareness on where to send/refer for treatment.
The task force plans to develop, approve and fully incorporate a Task Force Leadership & Support Structure, with the following members:
Two Co-Chairs: One Agency Representative and one Individual member; Work Group Chairs; and Facilitator
Work to increase task force engagement across all strategies and all priority areas
Develop a Welcome Packet for new Task Force members
Including Task Force Strategic Plan, Eight Dimensions of Wellness, Road to Recovery, Operating Principles, Leadership structure and membership, and work group roles and responsibilities.
